APALACHICOLA, Fla. (WTXL) -- If you've ever wanted to help set a Guinness World Record, you have the chance this weekend!

It's part of the Forgotten Coast Paddle Jam 2015.

For the second year in a row, organizers are trying to set the record for the largest floating gathering of kayaks, with at least 3,500 rafters. The current Guinness World Record was set by One Square Mile of Hope in Inlet, New York in 2014 when 3,150 kayaks and canoes rafted up together.

Other parts of Paddle Jam include kayak races and live music. Themo Patriotis joined us on WTXL Midday with all the details. Click the thumbnail to watch the entire interview.

The money raised will go back to Outreach Ministries At Risk Children, supporting youth and families of Franklin County.
