TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The United Way of the Big Bend has a story to tell, and is inviting the community to help with that tale.

The non-profit is kicking off its Community Campaign. It's an annual time when fundraising efforts really ramp up.

The United Way of the Big Bend partners with 39 area agencies to produce programs addressing basic needs concerns, like housing and hunger. UWBB is also leading the way with education initiatives, such as ReadingPals and Read United.

The money raised during the Community Campaign helps support these causes, and stays right here to improve the Big Bed.

Last year, the UWBB's campaign raised more than $4.6 million.

The Community Campaign Kick Off for 2015-2016's "We Have a Story To Tell" is Thursday, August 27 from 11:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. It's all the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, and tickets are $25.

To asked to RSVP no later than Monday, August 24.
