TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- Electric line workers showed off their skills in a competition Saturday at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum.
It was the 15th Annual Florida Lineman Competition and featured over 130 line workers.
The competition included handling downed wires, changing out electrical transformers, and rescuing injured co-workers.
The executive director of the Florida Municipal Electrical Association explained the mystery portion of the event.
Barry Moline said, "1 mystery event that each of the team has to do is that they don't know what that event is going to be in advance of the competition and basically that simulates what they're working like on a day to day basis, when there's an outage they go out is it a ground wire. Real experiences they face on a day to day basis. "
There were also pony rides, bounce houses, and face painting for the children.
