THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) -- The 4th of July is this weekend, and the City of Thomasville is letting you kick back, relax and enjoy the show!

The city is once again hosting its annual July 4th celebration to help ring in Independence Day.

While the fireworks are of course the star of the show, there are plenty of summer traditions and live entertainment on hand as well.

Once again, the city is putting up a big red balloon, and if you can see that from your seat, you'll be clear for the fireworks show!

Karen Smith, Executive Director of Main Street and Tourism, joined us on WTXL Sunrise for all the details of this year's celebration. Click the thumbnail to watch the interview.

The City of Thomasville July 4th Festivities are Saturday, July 4th starting at 6:30 p.m. The 30-minute firework show will begin around 9:30 p.m. It's in downtown Thomasville, at West Jackson Street at the corner of Steves St. The free festival also features children's activities and local veterans groups selling food. You can bring lawn chairs or blankets.
